The genesis of reality religion begins today
Since so many people seem to believe that liberals are stuck with nothing to believe in but reality, I'm creating this blog to advance that idea to its logical conclusion. Reality is my religion. Reality is often difficult to discern, maybe much more difficult than simple faith, but it's my "belief" that such challenges are good for the soul. In addition, without such mental challenges, the brain atrophies. When we stop asking questions, there is nothing left but to defend our orthodoxies. The result is endless conflicts, the inevitable conclusion of faith based systems as the adherents develop different interpretations within and scorn the non-believers.
What is particularly interesting about faith based systems is their malleability. The leaders seem capable of bending the rules to fit whatever intention they have. It's all done for the greater good of their religion. Reality is dismissed as irrelevant. What is good is defined by whomever is currently in charge. This style of thinking leads inevitably to conflicts. I contend here that the forces of evolution will eventually result in faith-based thinking becoming extinct because of the poor survivorship its adherents will suffer.
